Type Approval Certification
We get your radio and telecommunications equipment certified, labelled and ready to sell or deploy in Malaysia.
Under the Communications and Multimedia (Technical Standards) Regulations 2000, communications equipment used or sold in Malaysia must be certified against the relevant MCMC Technical Codes and carry the MCMC certification mark. SIRIM QAS International is the registered certifying agency. We manage the process end to end, including test report review, applications and labelling.

Questions about type approval certification
Which products need certification?
Broadly, any equipment that connects to a public network or uses radio spectrum, from handsets and routers to IoT modules, base stations and two-way radios. We confirm the applicable Technical Codes for each product.
Can I use test reports from overseas laboratories?
Often, yes. Reports from accredited laboratories testing to the relevant methods can be accepted, subject to the certifying agency’s acceptance rules. We check report scope and validity before you apply.
Does certification allow me to operate the equipment?
No. Certification confirms the equipment meets the technical requirements. Operating radio equipment may still need a spectrum or apparatus assignment, which we can handle alongside.
